✅ Launch Point Options:

📍Lower Nemahbin Lake Boat Launch
- LOWER NEMAHBIN LAKE
Lower Nemahbin Lake is a favorite for those seeking a peaceful, nature-focused paddling experience. With light boat traffic, clear waters, and fewer crowds than nearby lakes, it’s ideal for spotting wildlife, enjoying calm conditions, and exploring shoreline scenery at your own pace. A great starting point for both lake paddles and Bark River floats. - Parking:
- DNR LOT - Park in front of a numbered sign to park legally — tickets are $60 if parked incorrectly.
- Angle park on sugar island road to the left just before the DNR lot
- Not sure where to park? Ask us when you arrive at the launch — we’re happy to help.

📍River Access Sawyer Road
- BARK RIVER (Sawer Rd.)
- Challenge Level: Easiest. This is a mostly gentle paddling route with scenic stretches and typically light current.
-
Route: You’ll encounter three bridges along the way: paddle under the first farm bridge, portage around the second, and take out at the third bridge at Genesee Lake Road. Only the second bridge requires taking out and re-entering the river. Expect a few minor natural obstacles, such as low-hanging branches or submerged logs, especially near bends. Overall, it’s an easy and enjoyable paddle suitable for most experience levels.
- You will Take-Out and re-entry here, if Launching at the Lower Nemahbin Boat Launch
-
Parking: Park at either the Summit Park & Ride or on Sawyer Road, depending on what’s listed in your reservation.
